Phala and freezies are a welcome treat for our pre-school children and deaf students.
The phala is made and donated to us by the local prison, just 3km away. The prison gives skills to the prisoners who are coming up for release.
The freezies are made by our teacher and her daughter, it is a good business on these hot days!

The hall building is finally taking shape!
After a challenging year with the hall building, the sad passing of the original builder and the extreme inflation here in Malawi, we are nearing the end of the build.
As I am writing the grass thatch is going on and the building is looking magnificent. We are impressed with how it looks and blends in with the local surroundings.
This has all been made possible by the generosity of a couple of individuals as well as the Elim church and people of Tamworth, UK.
Happy New Year!
All at Chifona Trust are wishing you all a very Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
We would like to thank you for your support, love and prayer throughout 2023.
We look forward to partnering with you in the exciting year ahead!

Donation of running shoes
A very big THANK YOU to all those runners who gave their used running shoes to ‘Running ReSole‘. Our club received a box full of shoes and socks and have started to distribute them to the runners. These young men and women were so appreciative of the gift, some have been running bare foot or in flip flops!
We are trying to encourage these ones to be serious about their running and to achieve their goals.
We have a qualified coach coming once a week to train them and they also train on their own during the week.

Tonny has completed his Junior Certificate Exam!
This means he has finished his second year at secondary school, he has to pass this exam to continue into his next year. He will pass as his reports have been very good, but from these results he can decide which subjects to continue with for his final exams in two years time. His ultimate goal is to be a doctor so he needs to do well in the science subjects.
He came with his father to visit us this week to update us on his school life and he is turning into a great young man, he is also speaking good English now. The school insists on them speaking English, this is to help them in their exams as all the questions are in English so they need a greater understanding to achieve good marks.
His school is about six hours away from home and he boards there all term. His reports show that he usually appears in the top ten (out of 80) in his term exams.
If you would like to help Tonny achieve his goals and are able to sponsor his schooling, please donate below.
One term costs £175 / $210 and there are three terms in the school year.
